Shoring is a vital construction technique that provides temporary support to buildings, walls, and trenches at risk of collapse during repairs or alterations. It ensures safety for workers and the site by stabilizing structures during major excavations or modifications. Effective shoring prevents soil and structural collapses, protects assets, creates safe access points, and helps minimize delays while ensuring regulatory compliance, making it essential for project success. Shoring techniques are customized for specific site conditions and needs, especially in excavation projects. Common methods include:
SHEET PILE
Interlocking U-shaped steel sheets are driven into the ground to create a barrier, often used to separate soil from water.
SOLDIER PILE & LAGGING
Steel beams or piles are driven vertically into the ground, with horizontal lagging (typically timber or precast concrete) added to spread soil pressure to the support beams and prevent soil from falling through gaps.
CAISSON WALL
Drilled holes are filled with concrete to form a continuous line of interlocking shafts, which are reinforced with vertical steel piles at intervals for added strength.

Shoreline offers cofferdam installation for larger projects, creating temporary "water-tight" enclosures. These cofferdams enable crews to access structures such as bridges, docks, piers, and dams from their bases. We prioritize safety and efficiency by implementing effective dewatering plans.
To facilitate cofferdam installations, Shoreline owns and rents various thicknesses of sheet steel, ensuring flexibility and reliability in project execution.
